It is the Holy Spirit who is the Director of this process of calling and equipping men and women for work in the Kingdom of God to serve as witnesses to Jesus Christ.
The role of the Dunamis Institute is to help you discern how the Holy Spirit is calling you; and then, in addition, to discern how the Holy Spirit may be calling you to be equipped in order to fulfill your calling.
After over 40 years of being a part of the worldwide movement of the Holy Spirit, and seeking to respond to all the various callings that people have, been called into we have developed teaching materials and equipping approaches that the Holy Spirit has used.
This is practical and focused on equipping for some general areas of calling in the Kingdom of God. As of 2011 these are the streams that represent materials already developed that we now have organized and offer to you.
We do not offer academic degree programs such as a Doctor of Ministry, or a Masters of Divinity. Instead, we are much more like a school of discipleship or a vocational school that brings together practical equipping that will to help people be practically deployed in all the various ways that the Holy Spirit deploys them into in the Kingdom of God for offering ministry, growing the church and advancing the Gospel.
We believe that the Holy Spirit is the one who directs our preparation. Once you have signed up as an Associate, we do offer some help in discerning how the Holy Spirit may be calling you and what aspects you may need to take.
You may be called for a specialized areas of ministry such as being ordained to the Gospel Ministry in a particular denomination. You will need to check out the requirements with your denomination to see what the requirements are for ordination. The Dunamis Institute eEquipping process may supplement those requirements, but since at this point we do not offer academic degrees, but rather practical equipping it is doubtful that we will be able to meet those equipments.
However, the Dunamis Equipping Streams with their focus on cooperating with the Holy Spirit may be extremely useful for equipping you in the areas not generally covered in traditional academic theological education.
For instance, traditional theological education may not cover how to do deliverance ministry, doing prayer ministry, or listening evangelism. Nor may it cover the apostolic work of growing the church and founding new ministry. This is not intended to replace academic education but rather to supplement your training. (The faculty of the DI all haves advanced degrees from the well established seminaries , colleges and universities in UK, USA and Canada, Taiwan, Indonesia and/or Korea.)
As of August 2011, we are still developing the goals, purposes, and suggested contents of each of these Equipping Streams, but the basic concept is that you may select specific courses from each level that suit your interest and the leading of the Holy Spirit. You may mix and match courses. There are no required courses. The purpose is not to gain credits, but rather to be equipped for engagement in the work of the Kingdom of God.
So each Associate is free to select courses that will meet his or her equipping objective. It is very important to first establish your calling and direction. If you do not know or are unsure, just join the General Equipping Stream. and wWe will trust that the Holy Spirit will give you guidance as you grow in the dynamic of cooperating with Jesus in ministry.
The Equipping Streams
Anyone may participate in courses or events. However, you must be enrolled as an Associate to participate in an Equipping Stream.
